Room 28

Dear 4th Grade Parents,
Please join us Wednesday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m. in Room 28 to learn about the 2016 Mexico Exchange Program.

For nearly 30 summers, Advocates for Language Learning at El Marino (A.L.L.E.M.) has sponsored this program for 5th grade SIP students to expand their Spanish language skills and to experience Mexican culture. (Only current 4th grade children are eligible to participate in the exchange program for the next academic year.)

The exchange currently involves two 3-week adventures.  For 3 weeks, your child will live with a family and attend private school in Zapopan, a high-end suburb of Guadalajara.  During another 3-week timeframe, your family will host a child from that school in your home. You must be willing to commit to both parts of the exchange for admission into the program.

The dates for your child to be in Mexico will likely be from August 13 – September 3, 2016.

At this meeting, we will provide an overview of the exchange program, share experiences from recent exchange participants, and answer any questions. Come learn about this exciting and unique 30-year old program.
