EMLS has an active community of parents and volunteers who are constantly striving to contribute to our positive school climate; a climate that promotes inclusion, respect and caring.
Just a few of the programs that EMLS is currently implementing:
Dolphin Tickets and WAVE Rider assemblies where children are recognized for their good citizenship
Weekly 2nd Step Lessons in all K-3rd grade classes. This program addresses social and emotional skills, developing communication and focus skills, plus helping children self regulate.
Social & Emotional focus in the first 8-10 weeks of school in the form of guided readings made available to all teachers at age-appropriate levels.
Red Ribbon Week happening the week of October 23rd. For over 8 years, 20+ volunteer parents fan out across the school to decorate, conduct discussion groups about bullying and contribute to lessons the teachers complete in class with behavior contracts and visual reminders that at EMLS Kindness Counts.
