The Red Ribbon Week Committee is soliciting volunteers to help them prepare some materials for the upcoming Red Ribbon Week celebration occurring October 18 - 22nd. Volunteers are needed for two days this week. The committee will be gathering on Tuesday, October 12th, 9am, to cut and tape paper and assemble teacher kits. These kits will include everything each teacher needs for our Red Ribbon Week activities. The more volunteers the committee has, the less time time they'll need to perform the preparation activities. The committee will provide all of the materials except scissors, so please bring your own pair. Additionally, volunteers are needed on Friday, October 15th, 9:00 am, for an hour or two to help distribute the teacher kits, tape the paper to each classroom door, and hang some red ribbons. The committee will meet at the cactus garden (near the front office) for both of these days, where they will provide you with all the directions. Many thanks for supporting Red Ribbon Week!
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in schools nationwide and is intended to promote a drug-free lifestyle. This year, as we have done in the past, we will be tailoring this message for our younger audience by focusing on Opening the Door to a Healthy, Caring School Community and the activities we have plannned will revolve around this theme. You will be receiving more information about it in the coming weeks.
