Red Ribbon Week

What
Red Ribbon Week
When
10/20/2010
Where
El Marino

Monday October 18th will be the start of Red Ribbon Week (RRW) at El Marino.  This year’s theme will be Open the Door to a Healthy, Caring Community. As you may be aware RRW is a national program that brings awareness to children about the importance of living a drug free life.  We feel it is more age appropriate to focus on healthy living and smart choices, rather than drugs.

In keeping with the theme for a caring community we will be holding a food drive for the week.  It’s a good time to clean out your food cupboards!

Activities:

Monday, Oct. 18th

  • Kids will tie a red ribbon to their backpacks and keep it on all week to signify their pledge to be a healthy and caring person.

Community Service:

All week long we will be holding a food drive for the Westside food bank.  Barrels will be placed by the front office, and the two back gates.  Please send your child to school with canned or packaged food items any day during the week.  Please no glass, unless it’s baby food.
