Dear Parents/ Guardians,
You are invited to join us next Monday, October 31, for our school-wide Halloween costume parade on the playground. The parade, for students in grades K-5, will begin at 9:00 a.m. Students in the PM Kindergarten classes are invited to participate in the parade if desired and exit afterwards with their families. They can return when PM classes begin at 11:55.
Please notify your child's teacher if your child is not permitted to participate in the parade. We will provide an alternate activity in the library for students during that time.
Please follow the guidelines from our staff:
- Students who choose to wear costumes in the parade should come to school, dressed in their costumes, and bring a change of clothing in a bag, clearly labeled with name and room number.
- Please do not send makeup (teachers will not have time to apply it).
- For safety reasons, no masks (which obstruct vision) or high-heeled shoes.
- Please, no costumes that are offensive or glorify violence. No toy weapons [guns, swords, knives] are allowed at school. Students whose costumes are inappropriate will be asked to change their clothing.
- In accordance with our school policy, we will not be having classroom Halloween parties.
- Candy collected on Halloween should not be brought to school the next day.
