Mrs. Nelson's Book Fair is Here!
The Book Fair will be open for business starting Monday, April 25th at 8:30 a.m.
We'll be open all week, even during the Jog-A-Thon, so stop by before or after the big event to shop!
Students will be visiting the Fair with their class during these days. If you’d like your child to purchase books during their classroom visit, please send cash or check made out to Mrs. Nelson’s Toy and Book Shop (please indicate max amount in memo line). Adults may also pay by credit card. Complete list of classroom visits is located next to the Book Fair cashier in the auditorium or available online soon.
Our hours are:
Monday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
AND
Friday Night (Literary Night): 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Literary Night: Fri, April 29th, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Join us this Friday, April 29th, for Literary Night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the school library.
The theme for this year’s Literary Night is “The Four Seasons”. Each of our guest readers will present a book which depicts an activity or special occasion in winter, spring, summer or fall.
Featured Authors
For Spring, Wen Chia Parker will be here to read her book "Kids Can Compost" and will be bringing some compost for us to get our hands in!
For Winter, Howard and Elaine Behnken, former El Marino parents, will be here to read their book “Bruce Bruce the Hanukkah Moose” and perform a song!
We also have 2 El Marino parents, Olivia and Cecily, who've volunteered their time to read our summer and fall book selections for you.
It's going to be a fun evening! Hope to see you there!

Volunteers Needed for Literary Night!
We are trying to get the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ) to come to Literary Night this Friday, April 29th.
It's been a tradition to have them at this event and the kids have been asking if they are going to be there. This wonderful organization would like to participate and we would like to keep this tradition going but we need your help! To be specific, we need 3 volunteers.
If you can give us a commitment to help with posting signs after school, setting up, keeping the crowd organized and cleaning up, we can make it happen.
The time frame is 5:15 to 8:30 pm, this Friday night, April 29th. The volunteers can work the 6 to 8 pm time frame in shifts, it's just the set up and clean up that needs a team effort.

Bake Sale @ Literary Night
Join us for a bake and hot food sale that will raise lots of needed money for the school's PTA. Most baked items are priced at $1. Hot food items will include pizza & other items TBA and are priced at $2 and up. Cash or checks only please.
DONATE BAKED FOOD
You can also help by donating as many baked or store-bought goods as you can. Donated baked goods should indicate ingredients, if possible, individually wrapped (ziplocked) and dropped off in the cafeteria on Friday before or after school. Please include a note letting us know your name so we know whom to thank later.
DONATE HOT FOOD
If you have a great crock-pot dish we can add to our hot food sales, please drop your item off by 5:30pm. We graciously ask for your dish to be provided in a crock-pot or similar warming dish. We continuously sell out of hot dishes so any donations are greatly appreciated. We hope you will fire up those stoves one more time and help us have lots of yummy treats.

We need YOUR help because we can’t do this alone!If all you can give is time, please consider helping the Bake Sale Committee with one hour or three. No experience is necessary, just an ability to make change and greet hungry customers.
