ADVOCATES FOR LANGUAGE LEARNING EL MARINO
SILENT AUCTION 2012

Silent Auction is this Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM, in the Cafetorium.

Silent Auction brings in over 1/4 of the ALLEM budget.  We need to raise this money to pay for the Spanish and Japanese Adjuncts.

How: The items you have kindly donated for the auction will have a bid sheet.  Class baskets will be on the stage.  Teacher and Staff offerings will be on the tables in the first row, stage right.  All other items will be placed on the tables lined up in the auditorium.  Some items may be placed against the back wall, including extra special items.  A .pdf of the catalog will be posted in the school eblast and www.allelmarino.org. Your room parent will send everyone in their class a bidder number.  Only one bidder number is assigned for each family, so if you have more than one child, check the other classes.  If you forget your bid number it will be posted on the bulletin boards on the back of the auditorium. If we missed you, please let us know and we will add you.

Here are the rules:

Each item will have a number and a bid sheet.  A brief description of the item will be on each sheet along with its approximate market value, starting bid amount, and the minimum raise.

  1. Every item EXCEPT in the 200 & 300 category has a “Buy It Now Price” which 150% of the value. Priceless items do not have a “Buy It Now Price”.

  1. ADULTS ONLY No person under age 18 is allowed to place a bid.  If your child bids on a sheet, the bid will be disqualified.

  2. Each sheet has a minimum opening bid and a minimum amount that the next bidder must increase their bid by. If a bid is not raised by the correct amount it will be disqualified as a winning bid.  Bid sheets will have bid amounts listed pick whatever bid amount you want. The first bid amount must be equal to or over the starting bid and the next bidder must raise the bid by the listed raise amount or more.

FOR MULITIPLE WINNER BIDS: The number of winning bids is listed on the bid sheet.  The highest bid amounts, as long as the raise is correct, will be the winners.

  1. To bid: Print your bidder number and full name on the next available line on the bid sheet.  Please WRITE LEGIBLY and do NOT skip lines!  If you wish to bid a higher amount than the listed amounts, please go ahead and write your bid amount.

  2. The last bid in before bidding closes is the winning bid, provided it meets the above criteria. The closing times for each section will be announced.  Bidding for classroom theme baskets will close at 8:30 pm. Other items will close from 8:30 pm to 9 pm.  Please act fairly.

  3. When placing your bid, please note all restrictions and expiration dates.

  1. Donors and ALLEM are not responsible for buyer dissatisfaction resulting from failure to read the description on the bid sheet.
