After nearly five years of Spanish language immersion instruction at El Marino, your child now has the opportunity to cement those language skills on a month-long academic and cultural exchange to Guadalajara, Mexico. The four week exchange, pioneered over 25 years ago and sponsored by ALLEM, will occur mid-August through mid-September 2013.
This meeting at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at El Marino’s cafetorium, will be the opportunity for you to gather all the pertinent details about the exchange so you and your child can make the decision on whether or not to participate. The agenda will include the following:
· Overview of the exchange (dates, cost, application process for students and chaperones)
· 4 weeks in Guadalajara (host families, Colegio La Calma, food, excursions, and culture)
· 4 weeks hosting in Culver City (it’s required, family life, excursions, El Marino)
If you are unable to make the meeting it is imperative that you contact me as soon as possible to make sure you get all the information that will be shared at the meeting. I look forward to seeing many of you on the evening of March 12.
