DRESS CODE

The dress code is based on safety, modesty and common sense.  Students are expected to dress neatly, cleanly and appropriately for normal school activities. Shoes must be worn at all times for reasons of safety.  Athletic shoes are the preferred school shoes; students should be safe and comfortable for active outdoor play and Physical Education. Unacceptable footwear would include loose-fitting "Croc"-type footwear, flip-flops, platform shoes, toeless or open heel sandals, strapless heels, and high or wedged heeled shoes.  "Heely"-type shoes can be worn if the wheels are removed. Tank tops should fit snugly; armholes should not be so large that the body is exposed.  Clothing should cover the midriff.  Tops should not have spaghetti straps.  T-shirts with inappropriate pictures and slogans, such as tobacco, alcohol or drugs, are not permitted.  Excessively baggy pants are not permitted.  Undergarments should not be visible.  Caps and hats may not be worn indoors.  If a child's clothing is inappropriate for school, parents will be called to bring a change of shoes or clothing.
