Next, give evidence by copying a quote (sentence) from the story- include the page number in parenthesis where you copied the sentence from. Finally, illustrate your favorite part.
Read: Open Court, "The Milkmaid and her Pail" as part of 20 minutes SSR. It will only take you a few minutes!
Music: Practice your 4 songs on the flauta dulce for our Holiday concert on Friday morning; we will be performing for the school.

We have been learning to do "area drawings" on grid paper as one way to draw this.
The area drawing should reflect two sections of a large box with two sets of three squares (2x3) and two sets of 30 squares (2x30)

    *Spanish Story Problems in Math: We reviewed the math HW from last night in class and discussed how it is possible to complete story problems without necessarily knowing all of the vocabulary, or even translating them.  Abstract and critical thinking are difficult for our students at this age, in either language, and it can take time to build the stamina to do the re-reading of the problem which is usually required. We discussed strategies for isolating the numbers, finding what information is being requested, and determining the operation we need to do.
